Lemosho Route
The Lemosho Route is considered the most beautiful trail on Kilimanjaro. Starting from the west, it offers pristine wilderness, fewer crowds, and excellent acclimatization.

Overview
The Lemosho Route is widely regarded as the most beautiful and scenic trail on Mount Kilimanjaro, and it also boasts the highest summit success rate at 96%. Starting from the western side of the mountain, the Lemosho Route begins with a long drive through the lush cultivation zone before arriving at the remote Lemosho Glades trailhead. The first two days are spent traversing the pristine Shira Plateau, where you will encounter very few other climbers and enjoy a sense of true wilderness that is rare on Kilimanjaro. The route then joins the Machame Route at Lava Tower, taking advantage of the same excellent climb-high-sleep-low acclimatization profile. The extra day on the Shira Plateau provides even more time for your body to adapt to the altitude, which is why this route has the highest success rate. The Lemosho Route offers unparalleled views of the mountain from the west, including stunning sunsets over the Shira Plateau and dramatic vistas of Kibo Peak.
